FAQ – BerlinNFTQuiz

Do you have questions? Let us know. If you want to participate in the quiz, do not miss to read the Terms and Conditions.

Have you visited already BerlinNFTQuiz on Instagram? It is about Street Photography and people who guess the right name of the place shown within a current photo will get a NFT of the photo for free. A nice thing, but as is often the case with new technologies, the established and the new technology exist side by side without being able to use each other. For example, some people gave the correct answer in the quiz, but don’t know how to get their hands on the NFT. Hence, for now, the most important question in the FAQ.

What is a Crypto Wallet?

A wallet is a wallet, and in the case of Web3, a wallet in which cryptocurrencies and NFTs can be held. A wallet is also often the key to accessing Web3 services. Instead of a password, you log in to Web3 services with a wallet. Here’s an example: BerlinNFTQuiz’s collection of NFTs on Opensea. It is a growing collection called BerlinStreetLights on Opensea. In the top right corner, it says „Connect Wallet,“ which corresponds to the login on conventional websites.

Which Crypto Wallet is recommended?

Wallets are free apps with different functions. When choosing a wallet, make sure that the blockchain you want to use is present on it (Wondering about different blockchains? It’s like with messaging services; for example, you can’t send a message from WhatsApp to Telegram or similar, and it’s not much more complicated here). To receive NFTs from BerlinNFTQuiz, the wallet must contain the Polygon blockchain and also be able to display NFTs. Therefore, the Phantom Wallet is recommended; the Polygon blockchain is preset here, and NFTs are displayed in an overview upon receipt without any additional effort. The Phantom Wallet is free and has millions of installations.

How to get a Polygon Address to get the NFT?

If you’ve read the two FAQ points above, you’re well prepared. To receive a won NFT, you must share your Polygon address via a comment or message on BerlinNFTQuiz on Instagram. You can find your Polygon address in the Phantom Wallet by going to „Receive“ on the wallet’s homepage and then selecting Polygon. Your Polygon address will then be displayed. After you shared your Polygon address, your NFT will be sent to your wallet.

What about Security and Privacy on Blockchains?

Well, as with anything, you should be a bit careful with security and data protection. If you have concerns about receiving NFTs from BerlinNFTQuiz, here’s a simple tip: You can set up multiple addresses for each blockchain in your wallet. So, if you have concerns or want to try something new, you can set up a separate address for this purpose. And by the way: Web3 is largely anonymous and transparent at the same time. All transactions are assigned to addresses in so-called block explorers and are openly visible. Such a block entry also serves as a certificate of ownership, which also documents any NFTs won.

And what is a NFT?

Web3 and blockchains are known for cryptocurrencies. A piece of money is also called a token. Coins can be exchanged for one another, while their value remains the same. An NFT (non-fungible token) is a token to which a piece of information is attached. In our case, the information is a photo. This makes a token a unique non-fungible token. These NFTs can also be transferred. However, this is not an exchange for equal value, but a transfer or sale to a new owner. And yes, the NFTs won can also be sold and traded.
