The street photography featured on this website takes a cinematic approach. It is related to the site’s main film project but also stands on its own.
BerlinStreetLights is the first project to depict Berlin at night and its lights. It captures moments in a realistic, documentary style and plays with effects that are typically unintentional in photography (lens flare, moiré effect, or, less commonly, bokeh). In fact, these effects are intentionally sought out. Each image is accompanied by text explaining the current importance and the history of the locations.
The BerlinStreetLights project is currently the only one, but the idea of photographing Berlin during the day as a project has been growing for some time, which is why this site is called Street Photography and not just BerlinStreetLights.
And there’s another special feature: The photos can be purchased as NFTs on OpenSea. These are digital collectibles and are available as 100 cm x 100 cm downloads.
With this brief overview, I hope you enjoy or gain insights from the photos. I would be delighted to gain new followers on all channels and welcome any exchange. You may follow on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Threads and OpenSea.
Incidentally, and this is now more of an anecdote, the BerlinStreetLights project started as a quiz on Instagram. However, this wasn’t a successful combination, which is why the project was renamed from BerlinNFTQuiz to its original project name, BerlinStreetLights. Nevertheless, there might still be occasional quizzes related to the project, which is why the pages with the quiz rules will remain online.
